Permanent Aviation Fuel Facility Offshore Pipelines Buckle Advance Works
BEKKS Solutions Limited has been awarded the contract and is mobilizing Deep Air Diving Systems onto the Leighton Crane Barge that will be performing the pipeline buckle repair preparation works offshore in Urmston Road, South China Seas, on Hong Kong's South West Coast for ECO Aviation Fuels Development Limited.
With subsea diving assistance from BEKK, the defective areas will be located and prepared by profiling the seabed to accomodate the installations of the hyperbaric habitats. The defective areas of the pipelines will then be cut and beveled in preparation of the installation of spool pieces and subsequent welding;
- twin berth offshore island jetty capable of receiving ships ranging in size between 10,000 DWT and 80,000 DWT
- 4.7 kilometres of twin 500 millimetre diameter submarine pipelines and transfer pumps to deliver fuel from the tanks to an existing delivery line through the Urmston Road Channel to the Sha Chau fuelfacility on the southwest coast of the New Territories in Hong Kong.
The Permanent Aviation Fuel Facility (PAFF) is located in Tuen Mun's Special Industries Area Zoned for fuel depot. The PAFF will only store one product, aviation fuel known as Jet A-1, which will arrive by ship and be supplied to Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) by subsea pipeline.
The tank farm with eight storage tanks in Phase 1 each holding 35 million litres of fuel.
